Light Gauge Steel Framing Machine (also named LGS Framing Machine) is for LGS structure houses. The Light Gauge Steel Structure is based on factory made galvanized light gauge steel components produced by the cold forming method assembled as panels at site forming structural steel framework of a building and varying wall and floor construction.
Because of the strength advantage produced by this bending process, steel framing material has a strength-to-weight ratio that is very favorable when compared to most other materials. The gauge or thickness of sheet steel ranges from 0.75mm to 1.8m2m. By convention the higher the gauge numbers the thinner the steel. The more lightweight non load-bearing interior walls of residential structures are usually made of 0.75mm-gauge steel, while the exterior load-bearing steel studs are usually built from stronger 1.2mm gauge steel.
Steel framing produces far less on-site waste than wood framing, making debris removal less costly. Also, since it goes to recycling facilities, the waste can even produce some income to offset project costs.
